Home again

Indeed, I am home again and we enjoyed our trip immensely. We had a hotel room overlooking the Gateway Arch, the old cathedrol and the Mississippi River. At night, the city lights were so beautiful and the Arch was lit up. We watched tug boats and barges going up and down the river night and day. While not Seattle, St. Louis is a beautiful city and tugs at my heart strings as the city of my birth.

Some of the places we visited besides the Arch were the Lemp Mansion (rated by Life Magazine as one of the 10 most Haunted Houses in America), Meramec Caverns, St. Louis Union Station and the Titanic display at the St. Louis Science Center.

The reason for our visit was to attend the Figure Skating Nationals and we saw the ladies short program and the long program at the ice rink.

Travel is wonderful, but home is home and it is good to be home.

On the other hand, I hardly recognize my home as whilst I was away, my husband did a "bit" of redecorating and painted the living room and purchased a new couch and chair. Add to that new curtains and it was like walking into someone else's house!

I am still trying to find things that were where I had put them although he tried to put things back where he thought they had been.

Time to get back to work! Daily calls from my husband during our vacation consisted of checking on us and seeing how things were going, but also finding out if I was able to get any work done while I was in St. Louis. I had brought along a bag of yarn and did find the time to knit up three fun fur boa scarves and start on the fourth.

I am such the workaholic!
